How do I donate my vehicle?

Donating your car, truck, van or other vehicle to Homestead Community Land trust is an easy way to support the future of permanently affordable housing at NO COST to you! We have partnered with Charitable Adult Rides and Services (CARS) to make this process fast and smooth. CARS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps thousands of nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Canada.

 

You can donate to your vehicle to Homestead by selecting the Choose a Nonprofit option from CARS. Then select Homestead and complete the online form. You can also call 855-500-RIDE (7433) seven days a week during regular hours of operations, and the CARS Vehicle Donor Support Team will walk you through the donation form over the phone and then help you arrange for your free pick-up. Hours of operation are:

• 5:00am - 9:00pm (PT), Mon - Fri

• 5:00am - 9:00pm (PT), Saturday

• 5:00am - 9:00pm (PT), Sunday

 

What happens to my donated vehicle?

Donated vehicles are sold through the used-car markets and provide crucial funding for nonprofit programs and services making an impact in communities all over the world. CARS works with a very large network of nationwide and independent suppliers to sell the vehicle and maximize donation proceeds. This includes analyzing vendor pricing and performance on a regular basis to improve the process and ensure the best possible return for Homestead and to maximize your tax benefit.
